Los Angeles, CA – (March 1, 2016) MedInformatix, the Practice Management (PM) and Electronic Health Records (EHR) innovator that is developing tomorrow’s healthcare information technology today, announced the Radiology and Ambulatory chapters of their Client Advisory Board have held their first meetings of 2016, where members reviewed key industry and regulatory trends impacting HIT in 2015, and discussed product development upgrades and other issues for the year ahead. One of the first advisory board initiatives in the PM and EHR sector when they launched three years ago, the bodies advise MedInformatix leadership on key industry developments, opportunities for new product enhancements and other client-facing matters.
“Our advisory boards continue to be an important vehicle for keeping us at the forefront industry leadership,” said Chris Bruns, Head of Product Development and voting Board Member at MedInformatix. “The meetings bring clients and company executives together in a peer-to-peer environment that encourages substantive dialogue on the issues and trends that matter the most in our industry.”
The Radiology chapter recently concluded its winter meeting in Los Angeles, one week after the Ambulatory chapter held its meeting in Clearwater, Florida. Both groups were briefed on upcoming product upgrades planned for the MedInformatix v7.6 software suite, and MedInformatix executives received input from advisory board committees on system requirements and best practices. Members also discussed a wide range of HIT initiatives confronting their respective medical specialties, including an assessment of the ICD-10 transition and Meaningful Use Modified Stage 2 requirements, as well as some of the challenges facing providers as the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) prepare to embark on Stage 3. Bruns says board members sifted through a wide range of related items, including quality reporting, clinical decision support, security risk analysis, and health information blocking and interoperability issues, among others. “There have been so many mandates in recent years, and with MU3 now in play optionally in 2017 and mandatory in 2018, there were plenty of topics to be addressed.” Bruns says plans were also made for the Advisory Board to hold a joint Radiology-Ambulatory meeting later this year during the MedInformatix Summit, an annual gathering of clients, executives, users and industry thought leaders.
The advisory board also welcomed new members from the MedInformatix client community. Current members of the Radiology chapter include:

Pat McGonigle, Chief Executive Officer of MedInformatix, says that unlike a lot of industry advisory boards that are dictated by a corporate agenda, the topics of discussion at the MedInformatix meetings, as well as the outcomes they produce, are purposely client-driven. “The great thing about our board is a common belief that we are stronger together than we are as one. We’ve developed a corporate-client relationship that is a true partnership.”
